• Elberta Quince Jam

    If you’re looking for a special gift for a loved one this year, Elberta quince jam, made from quinces from the Elberta quince tree next to the Eco-Building Products/Elberta Beach Market building, is available by donation at the Village Office. Emily Votruba made the jam and Jason Soderquist designed the label. The photo on the label is of an actual Elberta quince.   • Thanksgiving Leftovers Party Sunday

    Parks & Rec and your fellow villagers gather this Thanksgiving Sunday from 5 to 10 for hanging out and leftovers at the Life Saving Station (1120 Furnace Street, at the  Waterfront Park). Come and share your leftovers potluck style or just try everyone else’s. Soft drinks and coffee provided. At 7 pm Andrew Bolander presents the “Chronicles of the Life Saving Station,” a historical talk.   • Special Council Meeting Monday 6 pm

    Update: At tonight’s special council meeting, which was attended by several members of the public, council discussed a few options for our immediate, emergency Department of Public Works needs: required water operations and testing, and plowing. Elberta’s backup water operator, Dave Bissell, who works full time in Frankfort, is available to fill in for the next couple of days, but we’ll need additional assistance very soon.   • Veterans Memorial Park Dedication Today

    A dedication ceremony will be held today at 2 pm at the new Benzie County Veterans Memorial, located behind the Watson Benzie dealership between South St. and Grace Road, west of US 31.
