Gilmore Township/Elberta will be moving its voting precinct from the Elberta Library Building (704 Main Street) to the Elberta Community Building at 401 First Street, behind the former Bay Valley Inn and close to the ball field. This will be a permanent move agreeable to both the Village and the Township. It appears to be a win-win situation as the building is larger and the parking is better. The size of the building will allow for a more efficient voting process especially in the larger general elections. New voter ID cards with the change in location will be sent out prior to the March 8th Presidential Primary Election. The Community Building will also be the location of the monthly Township meetings and Planning Commission meetings as well as the Board of Review meetings. —Gilmore Township clerk Sharyn Bower

The last day to register to vote in the Presidential Primary is February 8. Details here:

Thank you for this information. We all need to be diligent and informed regarding Gilmore Twp affairs as well as the Village. Maybe it’s time to talk about placing a disincorporation question on the ballet.
